The movie is already touted as being the career’s best for lead actor Siva Karthikeyan and as per the latest reports, the movie has netted ₹15.58 crore in four days in Tamil Nadu.”The film registered the biggest opening in Sivakarthikeyan’s career. It collected ₹15.58 crore till Monday since its release. It’s turning out to be a highly profitable venture and fourth hit for Siva in a row,” trade analyst Trinath told IANS.”Kakki Sattai” made a record opening for Siva Karthikeyan. The movie earned ₹4.62 crore on its opening day. The first weekend collection for the movie was also big in theatres across Tamil Nadu with the net collection reaching ₹13.34 crore.Some reports also claim that “Kakki Sattai” has done extremely well at the international box office, especially in US, Australia and Malaysia.The 30% tax exemption and the U certification have visibly helped the box office collection of “Kakki Sattai”. Siva Kartyhikeyan’s last three hits include “Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga”, “Ethir Neechal” and “Maan Karate”.Directed by Durai Senthil Kumar, “Kaaki Sattai” is the story of a police constable who has the urge to be an honest cop unlike the usual corrupt officers in his department. The film is seen as a major step stone in Siva’s career as his character is portrayed as someone who has a good deal of heroism. The actor was much appreciated for his performance and for making sure that his antics and appearance was not over the top.”Kakki Sattai” also stars Sri Divya, Vijay Raaz, Nagineedu and Prabhu, and the film is produced by actor Dhanush.
Axis Bank, India’s third largest private sector lender, has dismissed a media report that its banking license faces cancellation in the wake of many frauds unearthed at its branches since demonetisation.”We would like to bring to your attention, the false and malafide news published in a regional newspaper alleging consideration of regulatory action against the bank. In this connection, we strongly deny the contents of the said article and we reiterate that the bank has strong systems and controls as per the norms prescribed by the RBI,” the lender said in a regulatory filing on Monday.We firmly believe the said news is intended to spread panic amongst the general public, demoralise the staff and damage the reputation of the bank, the bank added. Axis Bank was explicitly mentioned by the Indian government in an official statement over irregularities detected at banks in the wake of demonetisation, including efforts to launder black money.”The cases referred from the Delhi unit include the Axis Bank, Kashmiri Gate in which complicity of officers of the bank in the malpractices was detected,” the finance ministry statement said last week.”Some cases have come to notice, however, of officials involved in carrying out transactions which were irregular and violative of RBI’s instructions. Seeking to expand its footprint in the strategic Indian Ocean, India on Wednesday agreed to help Seychelles in mapping its hydrology reserves under four agreements signed during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who launched a coastal surveillance radar project to boost security cooperation with the island nation.The Prime Minister also announced that India will give a second Dronier aircraft to Seychelles and provide free of cost visas for three months for its citizens and making it available to them on arrival. He said he looks forward to visit India.Michel said his country valued strategic partnership with India.Modi said the two countries have strong convergence of views on climate change.”We are two nations that are vulnerable to its impact. And, we are deeply committed to combating it,” he said.”We stressed our shared commitment to strong national action. We also called for a strong and ambitious global effort, especially from the developed world, on climate change,” the Prime Minister said.Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval were part of the Indian delegation during Modi’s talks with President Michel at the State House in Victoria that lasted one hour.Michel had received Modi at the airport late last night.Seychelles has a population of 90,000 people and 10 per cent of them are of Indian-origin.
