A Primer on Agile Software Development Part 2

first_imgIn the second part of a two-part series, the speaker, Jeff Patton continues his lecture on the origins of agile software development. Firstly, he creates a brief timeline for nomenclature in agile development. Specifically, he mentions that Scrum was coined in 1986, Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM) in 1995, Crystal in 1997 and “an indefinite number of others” were trademarked throughout recent time.Patton then goes into the agile development framework. With scrum specifically, he outlines the professionals that are involved with the process, the methods they use and the outcomes they seek. He goes into detail about each of these categories, how they interact with each other and how they function independently. He stresses scrum’s importance to agile development. The video concludes with the explanation of scrum. While the video is intended to be a primer, it offers valuable explanations and insights on the topic nonetheless.AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterShare to PrintPrintShare to EmailEmailShare to MoreAddThislast_img read more
